We'll delve into the production process, exploring the key ingredients—rice, water, yeast, and koji—and the techniques that define different brewing methods. Understand how rice polishing influences the creation of various sake grades.

Experience the diverse spectrum of sake styles, including Junmai, Ginjo, Daiginjo, and Nigori. Sharpen your palate as you learn to identify each type by its distinct flavor profiles, aromas, and textures.

To complete your journey, we’ll explore the art of sake serving and pairing. Discover how changing the service temperature can enhance your sake experience, learn about the ideal glassware for each style, and enjoy a hands-on food and sake pairing exercise. Savor a variety of delicious dishes (not just sushi!) thoughtfully curated to showcase the versatility of sake and how the perfect pairing can elevate your dining experience!

There is a brief exam at the end of the last class and successful students will receive a Lapel Pin and a Certificate from the Sake Sommelier Association.

This course is perfect for anyone looking to deepen their understanding and appreciation of this iconic beverage.
